Subject: Crossword puzzles, Bombes, Colossus and the Birth of Modern Computing

Many of us have heard about Bletchley Park, Enigma, Alan Turing and the vital work done there to shorten the Second World War. But much less is known about Dilly Knox and his "gels", a bunch of Polish mathematicians from the University of Poznam, and a London Post Office engineer called Tommy Flowers, and the vital role that they all played.

Guests are welcome to join us for the talk and mingle afterward with members for a coffee, drink or even lunch as part of our social event.

So, if someone you know might be interested in this particular talk, why not bring them along. The club is looking for new members so if you are recently retired, give us a try.
