THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN - 'Everything was fine yesterday!'

Winner of the 2023 BAFTA for best film and with 9 Oscar nominations, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN is set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland. It follows lifelong friends Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Padraic, aided by his sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Padraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend's resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.

Writer & Director: Martin McDonagh Starring: Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon & Barry Keoghan

At first glance you would imagine The Banshees of Inisherin is all dark, boring and sparse. It's actually a film that is deeply affecting, warmly humorous, beautifully acted with evocative cinematography and a gorgeous score that make this a spellbinding men-gone-wrong fable.

"The Observer"

As a comedy duo, Farrell and Gleeson are money in the bank, just as they were in McDonagh's first feature In Bruges. As a pairing of actor and filmmaker, Farrell and McDonagh are simply perfect.

"Rotten Tomatoes Best of 2023"
