News in Kenilworth

Nearly 670 species of invertebrates have been found in Abbey Fields after a survey was conducted by nationally acclaimed entomologist and local resident Steven Falk.

Commissioned by Friends of Abbey Fields, the survey identified 18 species with national conservation status, as well as four species never been recorded in Warwickshire before.

Councillors have renewed calls to upgrade the Leamington to Coventry rail line to a dual track whilst urging railway bosses to allow mainline train services to stop at Kenilworth Station.

The demands come after one councillor dubbed the line an expensive white elephant with another lamenting that passengers had to endure a below-par service on one of the worst performing lines in the country.
