Vehicle owners in Kenilworth are being asked to turn off idling engines as part of 'Clean Air Day' on 8 October

Car drivers in Kenilworth are being encouraged to turn their engines off while stationary in a campaign to mark national 'Clean Air Day' on 8 October (this Thursday).

Warwick District Council have promoted the Clean Air Day, to help highlight the negative impacts of air pollution on health, and show the importance of everyone playing a part to improve the air we breathe.

2020 saw the first online Eco Fayre for Kenilworth

Kenilworth Eco Fayre 2020 was officially opened this weekend. Despite the circumstances, organisers have been praised for their "great work" in putting on such an inspiring event, which remains accessible to the community for the rest of the month.

The second Kenilworth Eco Fayre had to be held online this year, as a physical event was not possible for obvious reasons.

Urgent Mental Health Support is provided by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS trust

Lapworth, Hatton, Warwick, and Leamington stations will be the beneficiary of a new initiative between Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) and Network Rail, as they aim to raise awareness of their 24/7 mental health support line by installing signage at local railway stations.

Posters have recently been installed at 11 railway stations across Coventry and Warwickshire to alert people to the urgent mental health support line, which is available to anybody living in Coventry and Warwickshire.

The future of Kenilworth's local government remains in the balance as officers at Warwick District Council press ahead with their collaboration with neighbouring Stratford District Council after the leader praised the work and savings already achieved.

Councillors at this week's executive meeting supported plans for a joint local plan between the two authorities with £100,000 being allocated to fund the initial work. This will be dependent on Stratford's cabinet members agreeing to move ahead with the scheme when they meet next Monday.

The Virgins & Castle on the old High Street in Kenilworth is encouraging people in their community to look after their wellbeing and mental health as part of World Mental Health Day on Saturday 10 October.

The 16th century pub is supporting the charity Mind to raise awareness around mental health and wellbeing. This comes as the charity have launched a campaign to encourage people to do one thing for better mental health and asking people to share their tips and advice for keeping well.
