Pub giant Wetherspoon has been given the green light to install an illuminated hanging sign at its new Kenilworth pub.
The sign will be installed to the front of the Dictum of Kenilworth at The Square and will show Kenilworth Castle, a scroll, a sword and a crown.
Signing off on the application, a Warwick District Council report said: "The design of the hanging sign to the high street elevation is appropriate in this context, with projecting and hanging signs found on other shopfronts and public houses in the streetscene.
"The 3D design is a modern approach and it is hung on an appropriate bracket.
"The sign is considered appropriate and characteristic of the site it relates to, where there is other similar signage in terms of illumination and design.
"Initial drawings showed the sign to be large in size and Officers raised concern it was overly large and overbearing on the elevation.

"However the sign has now been reduced in scale and is now comparable to locally approved hanging signage.
"As amended, the sign is of an appropriate scale for the building."
The Dictum of Kenilworth opened at The Square in July this year after years of planning applications and works at the former Poundland unit.
Pub giant Wetherspoon ultimately invested £3.2 million in the new boozer.
The name initially drew a lot of negative attention from locals.
