West Midlands Railway is advising commuters not to travel today as weather warnings have been issued across the area.

The Met Office is predicting 70mph gusts of wind today as Storm Eunice hits the UK.

WMR is telling passengers not to travel, even on the bus replacement service through Kenilworth.

A company statement said: "Severe weather expected across our network.

"There is a severe storm expected on Friday and this will disrupt our train service.

"Many of our routes will have a significantly reduced service and some have been suspended completely.

"Because of this, we are advising that you do not travel on Friday."

The operator added that existing tickets will be valid for travel on Saturday 19 February.

The Leamington Spa to Nuneaton line is expected to return to a full timetable at the end of February, after over a year of cancelled services and bus replacements.
