The Works has officially opened its new Kenilworth shop.

The national chain welcomed customers for the first time on Thursday (October 29) after weeks refitting the former TGJones unit in Talisman Square.

The business promises "even more great-value books, arts and crafts, toys, games and stationery to the area".

Mayor of Kenilworth, Cllr Alison Insley, officially cut the ribbon at the opening yesterday.

Debbie Jamieson, chief people and retail officer at The Works, added: "We're delighted to be bringing a new The Works store to the area, giving families another place to find great-value books, crafts and activities.

"Encouraging reading, learning, creativity and play is at the heart of what we do, and we're passionate about providing affordable, screen-free ways for people to spend time together. We're proud to be joining the community and look forward to becoming a go-to destination for local shoppers."

The store will be open 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.

The new shop has created six new jobs locally.
