Ten-month closure announced for Balsall Common road

A Balsall Common road will be closed for 10 months for HS2.

Lavender Hall Lane will shut from Monday 9 February 2026 to Monday 30 November 2026.

The closure is to allow for the new overbridge to be installed and the road to be realigned.

HS2 said it will carry out the following works:

  • Relocation of multiple sets of utilities
  • Ground improvement works
  • Embankment earthworks
  • Highway drainage works
  • Install a new box culvert to divert a local watercourse
  • Crash barrier, kerbing and highway surfacing works
