Police officers were called to the A46 near Warwick yesterday evening (18 May) after a lamb was spotted wandering along the carriageway.

Officers from OPU Warwickshire, assisted by Warwick Police, managed to safely contain the animal, nicknamed 'Larry,' before returning him to a nearby field to rejoin his flock.

The incident caused some disruption while officers dealt with the situation, with police later apologising to motorists affected by delays.

A spokesperson said: "It's not all RTCs and tickets for our roads policing officers."
