Waverley Day Centre in Kenilworth has appointed a new manager, Kate Sweet, following the retirement of Anne Cross.

A familiar face in the local community, Kate is a long-time Kenilworth resident with extensive experience in caring for older people.

She joined the centre in May, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from a career spanning over three decades.

Kate began her professional life as a social worker and has since dedicated most of her career to supporting older people.

She spent two decades as the registered manager and owner of two care homes in Warwickshire, specialising in dementia care, and nine years as a service manager with the Alzheimer's Society.

Most recently, she worked in quality assurance for Warwickshire County Council.

Speaking about her new role, Kate said: "I am delighted to have joined Waverley and hope to continue providing the excellent opportunities and support that the centre has long offered to older people in our community."

Sue LaVerne, Chair of Waverley's Trustee Board, welcomed the appointment, saying: "We are absolutely thrilled to have Kate join us as Manager.

"Her extensive experience, warmth, and clear passion for our work made her the ideal choice for the role."

Waverley Day Centre offers a friendly and welcoming environment for older residents in Kenilworth and the surrounding area.

Anyone interested in learning more or arranging a visit is encouraged to get in touch.

Kate can be contacted directly on 01926 852365 or via email at [email protected].

More information is also available on the Waverley website.
