1. Tiltfest

Kenilworth's Tiltyard is getting ready to round off the summer in style, with the pub's popular community music festival returning on Saturday, August 29.

Following the success of June's Tiltfest, the latest event promises another full day of live music, food and family-friendly entertainment, with 10 acts, a barbecue and the pub's beer garden all part of the plans.

The End of Summer Festival will run from 1pm until 10.30pm and, as with previous Tiltfest events, entry is completely free.

The festival has quickly become a popular fixture at the Kenilworth pub since owners Dave and Amanda Shipley took over at The Tiltyard.

2. Bleak Expectations

The Talisman turns to a hilarious priceless parody this August as Dickens meets Monty Python in Bleak Expectations, running from Monday 24 August to Saturday 29 August with each evening performance at 7.30pm.

Adapted and written by Mark Evans as a dramatisation of the first series of the hit BBC Radio 4 comedy, the Talisman brings this delightful comic caper to the stage as part of its eclectic summer programme.

A parody of the works of Charles Dickens deriving its name from Great Expectations and Bleak House, the show takes audiences on a trip back to Victorian England and follows bin inventor Philip Bin and his family and friends escaping the clutches and thwarting the plans of dastardly villain Mr Gently Benevolent and finding their happy ending.

As the familiar Dickensian characters and tropes fill the stage, a comic farce ensues that sees Victorian values hysterically collide with oodles of joyful silliness.

3. Old Town Festival

The August bank holiday weekend is set to feature the return of Old Town Festival to Kenilworth's High Street.

Running on Sunday 30 August, the festival promises a full day of free live music, food, and family fun right in the heart of the community.

From 12pm to 9pm, festivalgoers will enjoy back-to-back performances from a series of local bands.

4. Castle Hill Fest

A popular Kenilworth street festival is celebrating its fourth year as it returns this weekend.

Run by the independent businesses on Castle Hill, Castle Hill Fest was first held in 2023 to mark the coronation celebrations and has been run on a number of times since.

Since then it has been held several times a year, including in May this year.

And it is set to return for the first time this year on Monday 31 August, with a later finish.

5. Stand Up Comedy

Final tickets remain for another evening of stand-up comedy at the Talisman Theatre.

Headlining is Matt Richardson — seen on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Virgin Radio Drive-Time, The Xtra Factor and I'm a celebrity get me out of here now!

Joining Matt is XS Manchester radio comedian of the year, Dawn Bailey and BBC3 New comedy awards semi-finalist and Yorkshire comedy awards best breakthrough act, Jack McClean.
