As we approach the 80th anniversary of the historic D-Day Landing, a Kenilworth-based community theatre is "thrilled" to announce its riveting stage production of 'Pressure' by David Haig.

This "compelling" drama at the Talisman Theatre brings to life one of the most pivotal moments in history, exploring the intense pressures faced by those involved in planning and executing the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II.

Set against the backdrop of the harrowing events leading up to D-Day, 'Pressure' follows the story of meteorologist Dr James Stagg (played by David T Mears), whose critical role in advising General Eisenhower (played by Phil Reynolds), on weather conditions proved to be instrumental in the success of the operation.

In direct conflict with Stagg's weather predictions though, Einshower has to balance conflicting weather advice from Colonel Krick (played by Dave Crossfield), an American 'celebrity' weatherman who predicts sunshine.

With the fate of thousands of lives hanging in the balance, Stagg must navigate conflicting forecasts and personal dilemmas to make the ultimate decision that will shape the course of history.

Directed by Michael Seeley, this gripping production promises to captivate audiences with its blend of historical events, human drama, and suspenseful storytelling.

Ahead of it's opening night on Monday 15 April, Michael commented: "They had just one chance at this almost exactly 80 years ago, and everything had to be right, including the weather.

"The correct final forecast was key to success. But this is not just a story of high stakes, tension and disagreements.

"It is also a moving human story about how real people coped with the pressures of war. There are some lighter moments too - it is truly a play that will make you laugh while bringing a tear to your eye."

Audiences will be transported back to the tense atmosphere of June 1944, experiencing firsthand the monumental challenges faced by those tasked with orchestrating one of the largest amphibious assaults in history.

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landing, the Talisman Theatre invites audiences to join them in honouring the bravery and sacrifice of the Allied forces through this poignant theatrical experience.

"As we reflect on the courage and resilience of those who fought for freedom, 'Pressure' serves as a timely reminder of the enduring legacy of D-Day and its significance in shaping the world we live in today," the theatre said.

Don't miss your chance to witness this suspenseful real life drama on stage. The show runs from Monday 15 to Saturday 20 April. Tickets are now available via the website or by contacting Box Office direct on 01926 856548.
