Kenilworth School sixth formers Sophia and Isabelle write on the importance of The Kenilworth Centre

The Kenilworth Community Centre's impact report highlights the value it gives to the 1,300 people who walk through the doors every week.

The centre has proven itself to be somewhere where the community feel safe and provided for.

But what is a community? Is it a place on a map? Is it a group of people who just so happen to be living in the same area?

Or is it a group of unspoken heroes who go above and beyond to ensure your family is fed, you're never alone and our young people have a space to simply be.

We cannot deny that social media has created a false hostile reality that simply makes young people feel 'not good enough'.

Young people have grown up as digital natives who are trapped in a dopamine cycle relying on validation from the social media platforms that make them so insecure.

With news of the upcoming social media ban, this is our chance to rescue a generation who tap more than they speak. This is our one chance to get them away from screens and into conversations.

The Kenilworth Centre offers a place where young people can simply socialise and be.

In a recent survey 85 per cent of the Kenilworth Community that were interviewed were found to believe that young people will need to come to the centre more frequently following the ban. This is just one of the reasons the Kenilworth centre is such a vital part of the community.

The centre is not only for young people. From your first go at drama tots to your weekly yoga, or support group The Kenilworth Centre's doors are open for all.

The Kenilworth Centre even offers a radio station and recording studio where you can tune in to a wide variety of live shows presented by local volunteers. This ranges from 'Lunchtime Live" to 'Showtune'. It also has a 'podcast club' and courses for those wanting to learn. Interested in books?

On Wednesdays you can tune into "Kenilworth Reads." If country music is your thing, you can listen to 'Ranch Rhythms' on a Thursday.
