UPDATE: Line-up changes for 'Dangerous Women' event in Kenilworth

Kenilworth Books is "thrilled to announce" an exclusive literary event, "Dangerous Women," featuring bestselling authors this July.
Originally the event was due to feature both Elizabeth Fremantle and Caroline Lea. However Lea has had to withdraw from the event due to health reasons.
Instead Annie Garthwaite has stepped in to join the event on Thursday 17 July.
"Unfortunately Caroline Lea will not be able to join us for our Dangerous Women event in July due to a private health matter but fortunately acclaimed author and good friend of the bookshop Annie Garthwaite has stepped in to help," the Kenilworth Books team said.
"On the night we will still be discussing Love, Sex & Frankenstein by Caroline Lea, Sinners by Elizabeth Freemantle and now Annie Garthwaite's The King's Mother which tells the story of four dangerous women!
"We are so excited to delve deeper into these powerful women who are so often overlooked in historical records."
This engaging discussion will delve into the portrayal of women in historical fiction who defy societal norms and are often labelled as 'dangerous.'
The event will take place on Thursday, July 17, from 7pm to 8pm at Kenilworth School & Sixth Form, located on Glasshouse Lane.

"Following the success of the previous sold-out event at this venue, we encourage attendees to book promptly to secure their spots," organisers said.
Elizabeth Fremantle is renowned for her feminist retellings of historical narratives.
Her latest novel, Sinners, explores the tragic life of Beatrice Cenci, a young Roman noblewoman who stood against the violence of men in sixteenth-century Rome.
Fremantle's debut, Queen's Gambit, has been adapted into the feature film Firebrand, starring Alicia Vikander and Jude Law, and was nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
Annie Garthwaite is the acclaimed author of two novels that bring the women of the Wars of the Roses to life.
Cecily (Viking, Penguin 2021) was named a 'top pick' by The Times and Sunday Times, a 'Best Book of 2021' by independent bookshops and Waterstones, and has recently been optioned for television.
The King's Mother (Viking, Penguin 2024) was named 'Book of the Month' by The Times immediately upon publication and has just been released in paperback.
Annie came to writing after a 30-year international business career, determined to cast light on a female history so often overlooked.
