Search for man after fake police scam in Warwickshire

Police are searching for a man they would like to speak to after a scam in Warwickshire.

Officers say a local resident was contacted by someone claiming to be a police officers.

The suspect reportedly told the victim that their bank card needed to be "forensically tested" and persuaded them to place it in an envelope and for someone to pick it up.

Detectives from Warwickshire Police's economic crime unit have shared the CCTV image of the man above who they are trying to trace.

A force statement said: "Detectives believe that card was then used in to try to make a high-value purchase in an electronics store in Birmingham.

"If you are this man, or if you know who he is, please call 101 giving crime reference 23/4271/26."
