After widespread reports in national media that Kenilworth and Southam MP Sir Jeremy Wright was one of the three possibilities for the next Chair of Ofcom, he has not been chosen.

At no stage had the possibility been denied by the MP.

In response to the announcement, local Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate Cllr Louis Adam has said that he'd always put the needs of constituents before his own personal career ambitions.

"Everyone can see that politics is changing" said Cllr Adam, who has been a district and parish councillor in the Kenilworth & Southam constituency since 2019.

He continued: "So, more than ever, residents in the constituency need an MP who is fully focussed on serving the needs of their community and not on whatever, as MP, their next career move might be. I'll continue to be out and about meeting people from right across the Kenilworth & Southam constituency to share with them the benefits of having a strong local MP who'll stand up for their needs."
