Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 30s died in a crash on the M40 on Saturday night (April 16).

Shortly after 7pm the man's vehicle crashed between junctions 11 and 12.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and Warwickshire Police has informed his next of kin.

The M40 had to be closed in both direction for several hours as emergency services attended the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "Warwickshire Police is appealing for information following a fatal collision on the M40 last night (Saturday 16 April).

"Shortly after 7pm, a single vehicle collision took place between junction 11 for Banbury and junction 12 for Gaydon (southbound).

"The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

"If anyone witnessed the collision or has any information which could assist with enquiries, please call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 260 of 16 April 2022."
