Officers from Warwickshire Police and crews from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue service have been called to an incident on Birches Lane today (April 10)

Emergency services were called to the road at around 9.00am this morning after reports of smoke coming from a manhole.

Western Power Distribution reported that initially 315 of the properties on Birches Lane were without power.

The road was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the incident, and it has now partially reopened.

Emergency services have left the scene whilst utility agencies try to restore power to the 70 houses which are still without.
