Plan for 4,000 new homes near Kenilworth will ensure 'well-planned, sustainable community'
By James Smith 28th Feb 2026
A major new planning document which could govern how 4,000 homes are built near Kenilworth will help "ensure the creation of a well-planned, sustainable community".
That is according to one of the top councillors at Warwick District Council as a public consultation on the Kings Hill Masterplan has been launched.
Residents have until the end of March to have their say on the document and how some 4,000 homes are built near Stoneleigh.
The local authority has launched the six-week window for public feedback until 27 March 2026.
Portfolio holder for place, Cllr Chris King commented: "Kings Hill is a large and strategically significant site, and this SPD sets out clear guidance to ensure the creation of a well-planned, sustainable community supported by the necessary infrastructure.
"I encourage all interested parties to review the document and contribute to shaping the future development of this area."
The council's cabinet signed off on the consultation earlier this month.
The huge new development, which would effectively fill much of the land between Coventry and the village, has been in the pipeline since it was included in the 2017 local plan.
Lioncourt Strategic Land was granted planning permission for 2,500 houses and 4000 square metres of 'mixed use floorspace' on the land.
