Diners will once again be able to eat outside a Kenilworth town centre restaurant after plans were signed off for it to place tables and chairs on the pavement in front.

Ego Mediterranean has been granted a fresh pavement licence by Warwick District Council for an enclosed outdoor seating area at its premises at The Square.

Plans show just four tables for two will be placed outside the eatery and surrounded by a rope barrier.

The licence has been granted until September 30.

The tables are allowed from 12noon to 11pm, seven days per week.

The application shows the chairs will still leave two metres of pavement for pedestrians, with the tables set to sit in line with the restaurant's bay windows.

Just metres down from Ego, Warwickshire County Council has recently signed off on the permanent closure of Station Road to become a pedestrianised area. A number of possible uses have been put forward including a space for outdoor dining for the neighbouring eateries.

Full details of the licence can be found here.
