'Noises were not gunfire' say armed police after incident in Kenilworth

Police have reassured residents noises heard in Kenilworth on Saturday (July 6) were not gunfire shots.

Armed police were called to an unspecified incident on Villiers Road on Saturday.

"Any noises heard during this incident were not gunfire," a Warwickshire Police statement said.

"No firearms were discharged during the incident.

"One person has been arrested, the incident has been resolved and there is no cause for concern.

"Thank you to local residents for their understanding during the incident, the road is now fully open."
