HS2 has issued its autumn update for all the upcoming works around Kenilworth.

Over the past few months HS2 has had another closure on Dalehouse Lane and the railway line to Leamington Spa, installing a new bridge under the latter.

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has also given the green light for the new viaduct in Balsall Common.

And now the high speed rail developer has released its summer 'construction look ahead' for Warwickshire.

Upcoming work:

  • Delivering piling works for the Burton Green Tunnel and retaining structure
  • Building the Burton Green Tunnel roof slab at the North Portal
  • Constructing Broadwell Woods Embankment and Cutting
  • Creating new woodlands, wetlands, and wildlife habitats as part of a 'green corridor' alongside the future railway north of Kenilworth
  • Constructing Crackley Wood Cutting
  • Finishing the temporary bridge over Canley Brook
  • Preparing to build Canley Brook Viaduct
  • Foundations for new A429 bridge prior to realignment of the highway
  • Moving soil from Glasshouse Wood Cutting to Kenilworth Cutting
  • Building the A46 box jack structure by the A46 Kenilworth Bypass until 2024
  • Building Stoneleigh Road Underpass from July 2023 to December 2023

HS2 also said there will be the "removal of the minimum number of trees and vegetation needed to safely build the railway and prepare sites for construction".
