A new playground has opened at a major new housing development in Kenilworth, in time for the May half-term break.

Over 20 families including Isabella, aged three (pictured), joined representatives from Warwick District Council and the Vistry Group to open the new playground and officially hand it over to the council as a public space.

The play area is located at Stoneleigh View, off Glasshouse Lane, where 620 homes are currently being built.

Isabella said: "They have finished my park! I am so excited I got to cut the red ribbon and play!"

Diana, aged two-and-a-half, added: "It's amazing! I love it!"

New residents have already been settling in at the estate where 248 homes will be made available as council houses or sold at social rent levels or as shared ownership.

Another 62 will be sold by WDC's housing company Milverton Homes, with the final 310 sold by Linden Homes and Bovis Homes.
