A new café offering a slice of Greece has opened at Kenilworth's Millar Court.

My Greek Station has taken over from The Modern Kitchen, and opened for the first time in April.

Run by Chrysoula Stathori, the new café is offering a range of breakfast and lunchtime meals - all with a Greek twist.

As well as a tasty selection of cakes and pastries, the café serves a traditional blend of coffee which "people often say is the best coffee they have ever had".

Chrysoula had recently been the co-owner of a similar venue in Rugby but last year decided it was time to launch her own business.

"We were looking around for about a year to buy a business," she told Nub News.

"We live in Rugby and we were looking around locally.

"We found here in February and we decided to buy the business.

"We liked the place, we like where it is, how it looks. And we like having the parking there. And the outside area is also great."

Having spent just a week redecorating the coffee shop, they opened for business in the middle of May still under The Modern Kitchen name.

After a few weeks though, the café was renamed My Greek Station, and has already proved popular with locals.

"We still do breakfast and lunch but it is more Greek now," Chrysoula explained.

"There are specific Greek things like the salads, the sausages and the Kayiana [Greek scrambled eggs].

"It is all cooked fresh.

"People say there are not many places locally to get Greek food, but they like it a lot.

"We do the English breakfast with the Greek sausages, which people like a lot."

The café is also available for parties and events, offering Greek traditional food and pies such as Moussaka, Kleftiko, Spanakopita and many more.

And Chrysoula - who moved to England from Greece around six and a half years ago - running her own cafe is the latest chapter in a lifetime of working with food.

"Since I remember, my family in Greece always had a restaurant, taverna, selling street food," she explained.

"So I was there all the time when I was a kid.

"Then when we moved to England we started a Greek café, with pastry and cakes and coffee.

"Everything is fresh, I love cooking and I love to offer people my food. I want people to taste a bit of Greece in England.

"I like people when they are happy, and they say the food is great and it makes them happy."
