A housing developer has said it is three quarters of the way through building its new 129-house estate in Kenilworth.

Outline planning permission was granted for The Pavilions development on Warwick Road in September 2018.

Detailed plans were then given the green light by Warwick District Council in November 2019.

The initial scheme was for 125 homes, but a further four will be included.

The dwellings, which are being built by Bovis Homes, include a mix of one to five bedroom houses and bungalows.

And with 40 per cent of the homes due to be affordable, Bovis said the site would cater for first-time buyers and families.

The first homeowners moved onto the site in January 2021, and the development is expected to be completed next year.

A Bovis Homes spokesperson said to Kenilworth Nub News: "We are approximately 75 per cent through the development, which is due to be complete next year.

"Original planning was for 125 homes – this has increased to 129, through a plot substitution approval."

Houses are still being marketed on the Bovis website, with the most expensive a five-bedroom detached house priced at £1.025 million.

The website says: "The Pavilions is a stunning development of brand new one to five-bedroom family homes enviably located next to the cricket club in the stylish town of Kenilworth.

"Situated on the edge of Kenilworth with farmland to the south, The Pavilions is less than a mile to the centre of town.

"With supermarkets, independent retailers and one of the most spectacular medieval castle ruins in England, Kenilworth is one of the most desirable places to live in Warwickshire.

"So if you're looking for a beautiful new home that combines contemporary design with traditional architecture, look no further than The Pavilions in Kenilworth."

Town councillors announced last year that £10,000 would be spent on a survey to improve both road safety along Warwick Road and cycling access to the Pavilions site.
