Two neighbouring shops of Kenilworth's Warwick Road have been put on the market with the same estate agent.

The former Nicola Smyth hair salon is available to rent for £1,458 per month, while next door the former Barclays bank is on the market for £2,750 per month.

Both are being marketed separately by Leamington Spa-based firm EHB Reeves.

The bank shut its doors in January this year after Barclays said only 15 customers used the branch exclusively.

The bank also said that cash deposits were down 59 per cent and counter transactions down 39 per cent in 2019-20 compared to 2017-18.

The closure of the Warwick Road unit followed Kenilworth's Halifax shutting its doors in October 2021 and Nationwide reducing its opening hours to two days per week.

But now on the market with 1,107 sq.ft of retail space, the former banking hall has been described as "suitable for a variety of uses including a restaurant".

The brochure added: "The property comprises a three storey former banking hall, providing excellent retail accommodation at ground floor with ancillary secure storage within the basement and additional offices, WC and kitchen facilities at first floor.

"The property does benefit from a small rear yard and pedestrian access."

Meanwhile the adjacent shop, which has been vacant since the summer, is described as: "A former hairdressers, the property comprises ground floor retail accommodation with a small kitchen and toilet to the rear.

"At first floor level there is ancillary storage/treatment room accommodation."

More information can be found on the EHB Reeves website.
