A new street food restaurant and takeaway has opened in Kenilworth, offering a range of cuisines from across the globe.

Albion Street Kitchen opened for business on September 14 and has already proved a big hit with locals.

With a menu packed with pan Asian cuisine, wraps, burgers, wings and loaded fries, the Albion Street eatery has something for everyone.

Launched by three friends, Joseph, Naga and Kumar, the restaurant comes nearly a year after they launched Crown Street Food in Lillington, and brings together their 25 years of hospitality experience.

"Naga, he opened the Lillington business last year, but we all had the same idea," Joseph told Nub News.

"We wanted to do something like this for people in Kenilworth.

"The town has already been known for eating out, but they didn't have this sort of food - they had to go to Leamington or Coventry.

"But even if they go there, they have to go to a burger restaurant, or Wagamama or a Mexican place - we have it all on one menu."

The trio took over at the former Cherry Tree Café after it closed, and spent around four months completely renovating the venue.

As well as installing new toilets, they have also completely stripped and redecorated the interior, meaning it is almost unrecognisable from before.

And boasting a "dedication to innovation," Albion Street Kitchen has already become very popular.

"We have been completely overwhelmed by the local community," Joseph added.

"We have had such great feedback already.

"Word of mouth has been incredible for us.

"We need to be very thankful to [Facebook group] Kenilworth Vibes because of all the support."

Albion Street Kitchen will also be bringing back its breakfast offering this week, adding to the wide range of freshly-cooked food it already offers.

The business also says it is committed to sourcing local ingredients to add to its "street food scene with gourmet flair".
