Motorists can now pay for parking on multiple parking apps at council-run car parks thanks to a national scheme.

Warwick District Council has signed up to the National Parking Platform that allows drivers to pay for parking using a range of approved parking apps, rather than being tied to just one provider.

The government-backed initiative will allow motorists to choose how they pay for parking rather than being restricted to a single provider or app and they can expect "competitive pricing".

Previously, council-run car parks in the area used the Ring Go app.

Other providers such as APCOA, Caura, JustPark and PayByPhone will now be included.

The payment machines will remain in place for card payments.

Will Roberts, portfolio holder for neighbourhood comments: "Joining the National Parking Platform allows the council to improve our parking services whilst continuing to put the customer first.

"This new platform provides greater flexibility for our residents and visitors."
