Motorists are being warned to avoid the A429 Kenilworth Road next week as a month-long closure of the road begins.

HS2 had originally planned to shut the main route into Kenilworth earlier this month, but pushed back the closure.

Over the past few days 'stop-go' boards have been used on site to control the flow of traffic. These will be used until Friday 27 September.

This will then be followed by a full 24/7 closure from Monday 30 September to Friday 25 October.

Phase one will be for "further inspections and surveys of drainage and utilities".

Phase two will be for relocating the utilities for the new road alignment.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout.

In early 2025, HS2 will have another full road closure to complete the permanent road realignment for the new bridge.

Councillors on Kenilworth Town Council have recently criticised the "disgraceful" handling of the closure.
