Mobile dog groomers bids for street trading licence
By James Smith 16th Apr 2026
Councillors will next week decide whether to grant a mobile dog grooming business a licence to set up at various spots across the district.
Ben O'Malley has applied for a 'street trading consent' for the 'Dog Wash Trailer' to sell a dog washing service from a vehicle anywhere within Warwick district.
Warwick District Council's licensing and regulatory committee is due to consider the application next Thursday (April 23).
Usually a street trading licence only allows a mobile business to stay in one place for up to 15 minutes.
However, Mr O'Malley has asked for this restriction - which usually applies to ice cream vans - to be removed.
A council report ahead of next week's meeting said: "Mr Ben O'Malley has requested that the condition in relation to being in the same location for more than 15 minutes is removed from any consent granted.
"Accordingly, his application has been referred to the Licensing Panel for determination."
The local authority has recently granted a number of food vans permission to stay in one place for up to two hours.
