Nobody else was hurt in the incident, but Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit has recommended the driver have his licence revoked.

St Michael's on Cape Road provides inpatient mental health care.

A police statement said: "On Tuesday 1 October 2024 we attended Cape Road Warwick to a report of a Mercedes that had collided with the wall and fence of St Michael's Hospital and then crashed into the Hospital Building.

"We attended scene with the Ambulance and Fire Service and a 75-year-old male was safely assisted out of the vehicle.

"Unbelievable no one else was injured. The driver was taken to Warwick Hospital with minor injuries.

"We have now referred the driver to the DVLA for a revocation of his driving licence."
