Warwickshire Operational Patrol Unit have closed a lane on the A46 as a result of a large pot hole that has caused damage to a number of vehicles

A section of carriageway on the A46 southbound between Leek Wootton and Warwick has had to be closed due to the massive pot hole.

The pot hole had already caused damage to a number of vehicles before the area was cordoned off.

A police statement said "We currently have a Lane One closure on the A46 Southbound between Leek Wootton and Warwick due to a large pot hole in lane one of the main Carriageway.

"Several vehicles have also stopped with damaged tyres. We have arranged Highways England to attend to repair the pothole and we are dealing with the broken down vehicles."

Residents are reminded that there will also be lane closures on the A46 starting next week and lasting for ten nights. More information can be found here.
