A man was rescued by emergency services after falling into Finham Brook this morning (June 9).

Fire crews were called to Abbey Fields at around 10am after the man in an electric wheelchair fell down the embankment, into the water.

An ambulance was also called to the scene and the man was rescued from the water, before receiving medical attention.

A Kenilworth Fire Station spokesperson said he received "minor injuries".

"At around 10 o'clock this morning we were mobilised to Abbey Fields in Kenilworth," they said.

"The incident was to a person in an electric wheelchair who had fallen down a small embankment and into the brook.

"Thankfully only minor injuries were sustained.

"Firefighters worked with WMAS [West Midlands Ambulance Service] to rescue the gentleman from the water, up the embankment and into the waiting ambulance."
