A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a man in Temple Grafton.

Mark Stevens, 29, of School Road, Dursley, was arrested yesterday and charged this morning after the death of William 'Billy' Carney on Saturday.

He will appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court today.

Warwickshire Police were called to the Blue Boar Inn in Temple Grafton at around 7.10pm on Thursday evening (24 November) to attend a report of assault.

Following the incident Billy was taken to Warwick Hospital with head injuries, where the 31-year-old died on Saturday afternoon.

His family described him as a "larger-than-life character" whose personality would "light up any room he would walk into".

"He was the most loving and committed partner, son and brother, and he was a friend to so many," a family statement said.

"We are overwhelmed and so grateful for all the messages and support we have received. The staff at Warwick Hospital have been amazing, and we can't thank them enough for all they did for our Billy.

"We request privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with what has happened."
