Locals braved the rain to head to Kenilworth Castle to watch the live broadcast of the King's coronation this morning (May 6).

The King was crowned, alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort, at Westminster Abbey - with the event shown on the big screen at the castle this morning.

Some 2,000 tickets were given out for the free event, although clearly not all were used today.

But the hundreds who did attend the community event were in good spirits, despite the weather.

Some had even dressed up for the coronation, while others pitched tents at the castle to keep dry!

And that's not the end of the coronation fun this weekend.

Head to Castle Hill on Monday for the first ever Castle Hill Fest - a community fun day organised by local businesses.

And the castle will be making the most of the big screen to show family films for the rest of the weekend.

This as well as a mass choir performance tomorrow (May 7) morning, featuring performances from local primary school children.
