Leek Wootton hotel given permission for new solar panels - after installing them

A local golf club hotel has been granted retrospective planning permission for new solar panels on its roof.
The Warwickshire Golf and Country Club installed the PV panels on its roof last year, despite having had an application refused by Warwick District Council.
The Club Company UK Ltd - which manages the site - was refused permission previously after council officers said there was not enough information about how far the panels would protrude from the roof.
A council report said the panels must not be more than 20cm above the height of the roof.
This latest application said the panels should be allowed to stay, as they meet this requirement.
And council planners this time agreed, signing off on the plans this month.
A WDC report said: "In the opinion of the local planning authority, the proposal to preserve the character and appearance of the conservation area.
"The proposal will not result in an unacceptable adverse impact on the amenity of neighbouring uses.
"The proposal is therefore considered to comply with the aforementioned and is recommended for approval."
The application says the system will produce 155kW of power.
