Kenilworth's Cherry Orchard Recycling centre will be shut on Bank Holiday Monday (May 3) due to planning restrictions.

Operators Warwickshire County Council has confirmed that the centre will however be open on the preceding Saturday (May 1) and Sunday (May 2) for pre-booked appointments only between 8.30am and 5.30pm.

Full details on summer opening times can be found here.

Booking is required for a 15 minute slot for a car and there are also 30 minute slots for a car and small trailer on certain days at Cherry Orchard - one of only three sites in the county to offer this.

The reuse shop at Kenilworth's recycling centre, which is operated by Age UK, has also reopened. Details of opening times can be found here.

Mark Ryder, Strategic Director for Communities, said: "I want to thank householders across Warwickshire, who have continued to separate out recycling at home and increased our recycling rates.

"These efforts reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and contributes to lowering the county's carbon footprint."

Information about the recycling centres and booking can be found on the WCC website.
