Kenilworth Watch is encouraging local residents to be aware of the risk of theft to owners of keyless entry cars, after a vehicle was stolen in the small hours of Monday morning.

Between 11pm on Sunday 15th, and 7am on Monday 16th November, a black Range Rover Evoke was taken from a property on Inchbrook Road. However, the property was not entered, and the vehicle keys were not stolen.

It is thought that a keyless card key reader might have been used to unlock the vehicle.

Kenilworth Watch therefore recommends that owners of keyless entry cars store their keys inside a 'Faraday Cage', that is, a metal container that blocks the keys from successfully emitting or receiving a signal.
