Kenilworth's Tree of Light has now passed the 80 per cent mark towards its fundraising total of £3,000 and is set to beat this significantly.

Organised by Kenilworth Rotary Club, the tree is raising money for Myton Hospice and KidsOut/Toybox.

Located in Talisman Sqaure, the tree now has over 100 messages on it, some to remember loved ones as well as thoughts for family and friends who live far away.

The fundraising efforts for Kenilworth Rotary have been boosted by the fact that the club has use of the former Cooks Travel Agents in the square where passersby can donate and write a message card.

Cards have also been laminated to ensure they stand up to the weather.

The tree will remain in place until December 24.

The tree will be manned in the early evening every weekday from 10am until 4pm and on Saturdays rotary members will be there from 10am until 5.30pm.
