A sea of orange is set to come to town this November as Kenilworth & District Soroptimists back an international campaign standing against gender based violence.

The local group will be highlighting the impact of violence against women and girls from November 25 with 16 days of events.

The campaign comes as part of the UN 16 Days of Activism to End Gender Based Violence which runs until 10 December 2024.

As well as a number of events, orange decorations will be installed on benches in Abbey Fields and around the town - including an orange and white wreath at Kenilworth Castle.

"Orange is a cheerful colour and every year we hope for better things for women and girls," the group said.

"We are aiming over the 16 days to highlight the impact of violence against women and girls both locally and nationally in the UK by holding a number of 'Orange' events here in Kenilworth.

"The global theme this year is 'prevention' and so we are also supporting the White Ribbon Campaign www.whiteribbon.org.uk."
