The Oaks Precinct in Kenilworth is hoping to make its 'Party in the Precinct' event an a regular fixture on the town's calendar following the first edition on Saturday (August 12).

Businesses at the square threw open their doors on Saturday to showcase their services and to host a day of fun for the community.

As well as fun for the children, offers and goody bags, there was also a raffle as well as live music and a BBQ at the Gauntlet pub.

And with the weather holding out for the day, lots of locals turned up to show their support for the various retailers.

"Thank you so much to all the businesses and all the locals who supported the event," organisers said.

"We were really pleased with how it went and are hoping to hold a similar event next summer.

"It was great to see so many people come down to Oaks Precinct to find out more about the excellent businesses here.

"We are also very grateful to the wonderful businesses which donated prizes for the raffle.

"And most of all we hope everyone had a great day!"

Around £250 was also raised for Macmillan Cancer Support through a raffle. Winning tickets have now been drawn and the winners will be contacted.
