Kenilworth road closed due to gas leak

Leamington Road in Kenilworth has been closed due to a gas leak.

Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team closed the road at the St John's roundabout at 3pm.

Officers are directing traffic from Kenilworth towards Leek Wootton.

A team from Cadent Gas is currently on site.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 14.56 this afternoon to a report of a gas leak by Leamington Road in Kenilworth.

"Cadent Gas in attendance to deal with the issue – officers assisted with road closures.

"Please avoid area, traffic is being diverted towards Leek Wootton."
