Kenilworth Repair Café celebrates fourth anniversary

Volunteers are celebrating the fourth anniversary of the ever-popular Kenilworth Repair Café.
The monthly event at Abbey Hill United Reformed Church continues to grow and is now regularly bringing in visitors from further afield than Kenilworth.
Last year the group had over 450 visitors, and already in 2025 it has been over 500.
Launched during the pandemic, the café gives locals the chance to have their possessions repaired by a dedicated team of volunteers - promoting sustainability.
"Our success rate is just over 70 per cent - so that's a lot of items kept out of landfill," the team said.
"We've run workshops with the children at St John's Primary and Priorsfield, we're not sure who's enjoyed them more, the children or the volunteers!
"We've chatted to people at the Kenilworth Eco Fayre and met amazing number of people who weren't aware of Repair Cafes at the Lions Grand Show.
"We thought everyone in Kenilworth knew about us!"

Kenilworth Repair Café is always on the third Saturday of the month, from 2pm to 5pm at Abbey Hill United Reformed Church.
There is a "great atmosphere" with coffee and cake on offer whilst you wait, with volunteers eager to emphasise the social side of the café.
"This year, our brilliant team of volunteers will be celebrating after we've cleared up on Saturday with some light refreshments and birthday cake," the team continued.
"And, get a well-deserved civic pat on the back from Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr James Kennedy!"
