Kenilworth pub to host charity litter pick
The Engine Inn, Kenilworth, will host its annual charity litter pick next weekend.
Volunteers will arrive at the Mill End pub to start the litter pick at 12pm on Saturday, July 17 and will then be treated to a barbecue from 2pm onwards.
The Engine has a strong history of supporting community initiatives. This was recognised in 2020 when the pub won the national Heart of the Community Award after it raised over £50,000 for The Myton Hospices.
The Engine's landlord Ted Bear said: "We have always supported community work in Kenilworth and promote all our charity events."
The litter pick is one of a number of community events that is being 'championed' by the Kenilworth branch of the Royal British Legion.
A branch spokesperson said: "As huge thank you to Warwick District Council for allowing us to 'plant' our poppies around the town for the month of June.
"Our poppies are now going to pop up at various venues to help us celebrate some local community events, starting with the annual litter pick on the 17 July at The Engine."
Residents wishing to take part in the litter pick can do so by contacting the Engine Inn through its Facebook page.
