A popular Kenilworth pub is set to celebrate its 460th birthday this weekend.

The Virgins & Castle will welcome guests to its birthday party on Sunday (July 9) where a five-piece band will be playing out in the courtyard.

The High Street inn will also have a hog roast and be offering customers the chance to try its 460th Birthday Gin.

A post of the pub's social media said: "We are celebrating!

"Our 460th Birthday is Sunday 9 July and we'd love you to join us for our party!

"We have a five-piece brass band playing courtesy of Prava from 3pm-8pm in our courtyard garden.

"Not only that we'll be selling our Limited Edition V&C 460th Birthday Gin…and a hog roast…and birthday cake for all of course!

"Garden tables are first come first serve."

Thought to be the oldest pub in Kenilworth, it dates back to 1563 when it was called the Two Virgins Inn.

It is now run under the Everards umbrella by Caviar & Chips, and has been since they took over the pub just before the pandemic.
