The staff at Kenilworth Footcare have been running a socially distanced 'coffee morning' in order to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Despite the fact that current government guidelines effectively prevented any chance of a 'normal' Macmillan Coffee Morning, staff at Kenilworth Footcare were determined that they would still be able to support the charity this September.

Running from Tuesday 22 to Saturday 26 staff were selling handmade brownies, carrot cake, flapjack, cupcakes and lemon biscuits to raise money for the charity. A table was placed inside the entrance to the building where customers could collect cakes and make a donation.

"We have around 100 people through our doors over a week so it made sense to do it that way" says organiser Kate Harrison.

"We brought in fresh supplies as the week went on and luckily there weren't many left over on the Saturday!"

To ease the process still further, cakes were individually bagged so that people could serve themselves and minimise contact with the rest of the produce.

Over the five days the Oaks Precinct outfit raised £78.19!

"We would probably do it the same way again next year as it was so easy to do."

Great success for a coffee morning that was serving no coffee, and wasn't even confined to the morning!
