A Kenilworth podiatrist clinic is celebrating the announcement of its brand new treatment room with a special open day for its clients.

Kenilworth Footcare at Oaks Precinct has finished renovating its old storage area into a third treatment room after receiving a £20,000 grant from Warwickshire County Council.

On March 5 current clients will be invited down to see the new space and equipment before it is advertised fully for new customers.

And the clinic is hoping to use the afternoon to start building connections with other healthcare businesses in Kenilworth.

"We thought this was an ideal opportunity to do something we have been talking about for ages, and reach out to other healthcare professionals in the town," said owner Kate Harrison.

"There is so much scope for cross-referral across the town for things that are beyond our scope of practice.

"We thought it was a great chance to reach out personally and invite other healthcare businesses to come an network in our new treatment room in the afternoon."

Following the grant from WCC the old storage room has had three months of renovations to get it into shape.

As well as replacing the ceiling and an entire wall, foundations, drainage and insulation have all been sorted.

Now fitted with a laser to promote healing and a machine for checking heart rhythms, the room has given a permanent home for the foot scanner machine.

"We now have a beautiful new room which we can use for gait analysis," Kate added.

"The room is big enough to have the scanner in there permanently – beforehand we had to have people walking up and down in the corridor!"

And with the open day aimed specifically at current clients, Kate said she wanted to say thank them for their continued support.

"We are really expanding our scope of practice and before we advertise it to everybody we wanted out existing clients to be the first ones to see it.

"They have all been very supportive and taken an interest over the past few months."
