Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Housing Updates
A report presented at the most recent Kenilworth Town Council meeting has given an update on all the major housing projects across the town.
With new houses on the various developments along Glasshouse Lane already up for sale, 1,500 houses are currently either under construction or awaiting planning approval.
More applications for new estates are also expected to be submitted in the coming months.
-------------
New Junction
Works to build a new roundabout on Glasshouse Lane for a 620-house estate currently being built in Kenilworth are set to be delayed.
When planning permission was first granted for the Stoneleigh View development, developer Vistry agreed to build the new four-arm roundabout, and a junction on Crewe Lane to provide access to the new homes.
However, with roadworks along the Glasshouse Lane for the new Kenilworth School already behind schedule, Warwick District Council (WDC) has given Vistry permission to delay works on the roundabout.
-------------
New School
The architects behind the new Kenilworth School have hailed the Glasshouse Lane facility as a "triumph of education and community" as opening day edges nearer.
Keys to the £48 million school were handed over to Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust (KMAT) in July ahead of the first students heading to the new site in September.
And having worked on the designs and delivery of the school over the course of several years, Glancy Nicholls Architects (GNA) has said it is "honoured" to have played a role in bringing the project to life.
