Kenilworth planning roundup: Homes refused, HS2 and traveller site

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Village Homes Refused
Plans for three new homes in a local village have been thrown out by council planners due to the impact on the green belt.
OT15 Ltd had applied for planning permission for the homes on a piece of scrubland at Old Warwick Road in Kingswood.
Plans said the development of the 0.68 hectare site would not impact the nature of the village.
HS2 Bridge
Canley Brook will be diverted around 200 metres for a new HS2 bridge to be installed, fresh plans have shown.
The high speed rail developer has submitted updated plans for its Canley Brook Viaduct to Warwick District Council, asking for a number of "minor" design changes.
Plans show the four-span bridge will be 45 metres long and will carry the new rail line over the diverted brook.
Traveller Site
A hearing is set to take place to decide whether a traveller camp near the M40 can remain in place.
Warwick District Council served an enforcement notice to stop work on the Henley Road site in May 2024, after work to build a new campsite started over the bank holiday weekend.
This was appealed by the landowners, with a public inquiry to be held in December. This was then cancelled as a separate planning application was submitted for the development.
