Kenilworth Lions are set to support yet another ambulance trip to Ukraine to deliver vital supplies - with a major milestone being celebrated.
Lions Ivan, Dave, Jeff and Richard and driver Cllr Adrian Barton will set off on Friday (October 2) and head to eastern Europe in an ambulance loaded with vital medical supplies to support the humanitarian work of Belveder.
Belveder provides practical humanitarian support to people affected by the war in Ukraine, including ambulances, medical equipment, medical supplies and other essential humanitarian aid.
To date, Belveder and its partners, including Kenilworth Lions, have helped coordinate 70 ambulances and more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid.
This vital support has reached hospitals and healthcare providers, as well as displaced people, children, older people, vulnerable families and communities affected by war and hardship.
Accompanying them will be Dave's wife Sharon who is celebrating her 70th birthday with the 70th ambulance trip.
Lions president Lis said: "On behalf of Kenilworth Lions, I would like to thank Ivan, Dave, Jeff, Richard, Sharon and Cllr Adrian Barton for their commitment to this important humanitarian mission.
"Their willingness to give their time and undertake this journey is a wonderful example of service to others. We wish the whole convoy of ambulances God speed and a safe journey."
Kenilworth Lions are "proud to continue" supporting Belveder in delivering much-needed assistance to those affected by the war in Ukraine.
"We must never forget the sacrifices that the courageous people of Ukraine are making on our behalf," they said.
"To make a donation, please see the Kenilworth Lions website. It's your generosity that makes these things happen."
